How much does a tattoo cost in Miami?

The honest answer: it depends on size, placement, and detail. But I won't leave you with just "it depends" — here are real ranges so you show up with a clear idea.

In 20 seconds

In Miami the studio minimum is usually between $150 and $200, because big cities have higher operating costs and run 30% to 50% above the national average. At my studio the minimum starts at $120: an accessible entry point for hand-drawn work made for you.

Ranges by size

These are my reference ranges. They're not the final price (I lock that once I see your design), but they'll help you budget:

Small
under 3 inches
$120 – $300
Medium
3 to 6 inches
$300 – $600
Large
over 6 inches
$600 – $900
Sleeve / large piece
by design · ~$120/hr, ~6h sessions
Per project

Tougher areas (hands, neck, ribs) add +20%: the skin behaves differently, takes longer, and demands more precision.

What raises (or lowers) the price

Size: the number-one factor. Bigger = more time = higher cost.

Placement: arm, forearm, and thigh are friendly ground and go faster; ribs, hands, and feet take longer.

Level of detail: lots of fine linework, texture, or shading takes more hours than something simple.

Color: color and gradients usually add time compared with black linework.

Fine line: fine line is unforgiving — one shaky stroke ruins the piece. That precision takes time, which is why specialists price with judgment, not by the pound.

The deposit

To confirm your appointment I ask for a $50 deposit via Zelle. It's applied to the total — not an extra charge. It's non-refundable if you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, because that slot was held for you.

💡 Careful with "cheap": a tattoo is forever. Chasing the lowest price often costs more when it needs a cover-up or fix. Better to pay well once than pay twice to correct it.
