Privacy policy
This page explains, plainly, what data this website collects, why, who it's shared with, and how to ask me to delete it. It's written to be understood, not to protect me with fine print.
01Who I am
Wilson Escobar, stand-up comedian and tattoo artist, with a studio in the Miami area, Florida (United States). I'm responsible for the data collected on wilsonescobar.com.
For anything related to your data: contacto@wilsonescobar.com
02What data I collect, exactly
If you fill out the tattoo quote form
| Data | Required | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | To know what to call you |
| Phone / WhatsApp | Yes | To contact you and set up the appointment |
| Yes | To send you the quote and stay in touch. You also join my news list (you can unsubscribe anytime) | |
| Desired style | Yes | To understand the work |
| Body area | Yes | To estimate the price and duration |
| Your idea (free text) | Yes | To design the piece |
| How you found me | No | To know which channels work |
| Age confirmation | Yes | I only tattoo people 18 and over |
| Approximate size | No | To give you a better quote |
| Preferred day and time | No | To coordinate the schedule |
| Estimated budget | No | To tailor the proposal |
| Reference photos | No | To see your idea before the appointment |
About your reference photos: if you choose to upload them, they're kept in private storage (Cloudflare R2) under a random link that's impossible to guess and marked so search engines never index it. They aren't published anywhere, only I see them, and they're used only to design and quote your tattoo. You can ask me to delete them whenever you want.
Following up on your quote: if you request a quote, I may email you a couple of times to see if you're still interested and, if you book, to remind you of your appointment two days before. If you reply that you're not interested, I won't write again.
If you join the "Parche VIP"
Name, email and, if you want, phone number. Nothing else. The Parche VIP is my comedy list: show dates and content that never hits social.
Automatically, while you browse
- Pages you visit and how long you stay
- Where you came from (Instagram, Google, a direct link…)
- Device type, browser and language
- Your IP address and approximate country
03What I DON'T collect
- I don't ask for payment details on the website. The $50 deposit is paid via Zelle, outside this site. I never see or store a card number.
- I don't collect health data. If we talk about allergies or skin conditions at your appointment, that stays between you and me, in person. It doesn't go through the website.
- I don't sell your data to anyone. Ever. Not now, and not if this website grows.
- I don't allow people under 18 to use the forms. If I find out I've received data from a minor, I delete it.
04Who it's shared with
I use third-party services to make the website work. Each one receives only what it needs.
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) | Name, email, phone and page language (Spanish or English) | To save your contact on my list (tattoos or comedy) when you request a quote or join the Parche VIP. I may email you with news; every email includes a link to unsubscribe |
| Web3Forms | Everything in the form | To deliver your request to me by email |
| Meta (Facebook / Instagram) | Email, phone and name hashed (SHA-256, an irreversible code). Not hashed: your IP and your browser identifiers (the _fbp and _fbc cookies). If you request a tattoo quote, also whether you booked or got tattooed and the value of the work | To measure which ads work and, with contact lists, to show ads to existing customers or similar people |
| Google Analytics 4 | Anonymous browsing data, IP | To know how many people visit and what they look at |
| Cloudflare | IP, technical connection data | To host the website and protect it from attacks |
| Cloudflare (backup copy) | What you send in the form: name, email, phone, your idea and the details | To keep a copy in case sending it to Brevo fails, so your request is never lost. It is deleted automatically after 12 months |
| Eventbrite | What you enter when buying a ticket in its checkout window | To sell show tickets (Eventbrite's privacy policy applies) |
| Cloudflare Workers AI | What you type in the website chat | To answer your questions. Your messages aren't stored on my server |
| Elfsight | Technical data from your browser | To show the Instagram feed |
| Google Fonts | IP | To load the fonts |
| YouTube | Nothing, until you press play | To watch the “SinEditar” video |
Contact lists and ads: I may use my contact lists (email and phone, which Meta receives as an irreversible code) to show ads on Facebook and Instagram to existing customers or similar people. If you don't want to be on those lists, email me at contacto@wilsonescobar.com and I'll take you off.
The YouTube video doesn't load anything until you decide to watch it. That's on purpose.
05Cookies and storage
This website sets these cookies:
| Name | Who | Why |
|---|---|---|
_fbp | Meta | To recognize your browser between visits to measure ads |
_fbc | Meta | To remember the Facebook or Instagram ad you came from, to measure it |
_ga, _ga_J43646YNEQ | Google Analytics | To tell visitors and sessions apart |
If you buy tickets in the Eventbrite window, Eventbrite may set its own cookies under its policy.
I also save a few technical markers in your browser that never travel to any server:
weLang: the language you chose.wePre: so the intro animation plays only once per visit.weChatMsgsandweChatOpen: your conversation with the chat, only while your visit lasts.
And one more marker, weSrc: where you came from (for example, an ad or Instagram) and the first page you saw. It's kept for 30 days and only leaves your browser if you request a quote, together with it, so I know which channel works.
If you'd rather block all of this, you can delete your cookies or use your browser's private mode. The website works just the same.
06How long I keep your data
- Tattoo quotes: while there's an open conversation and up to 2 years after, in case you come back.
- Reference photos: up to 2 years along with your quote, or sooner if you ask me to delete them.
- Contacts on my email list (Parche VIP and quotes): until you unsubscribe. Every email includes a link to do it.
- Browsing data: the default periods set by Google and Meta (usually between 2 and 14 months).
07Your rights
Email me at contacto@wilsonescobar.com and I can:
- Tell you what data of yours I have
- Correct it if it's wrong
- Delete it completely
- Remove you from any list
- Send you a copy of what I have
I reply within 30 days. You don't need to explain why.
If you're writing from Europe or the United Kingdom, you also have your rights under the GDPR, including the right to file a complaint with your country's data protection authority.
08Security
The website runs on HTTPS. Your email, phone and name are turned into an irreversible code (SHA-256 hash) before they leave my server for Meta: neither Meta nor anyone else sees that data in plain text that way. Your IP and browser identifiers travel unhashed, because Meta needs them that way to measure ads. The access keys to the services live in the server's environment variables, not in the page's code.
That said: no system is infallible. If a breach affecting your data ever happened, I would tell you.
09Changes
If I change anything important, I update the date at the top. If the change affects how I use your data, I'll let you know by email if you're subscribed.
I wrote this text to be understood and to reflect what my website really does. It isn't a document drafted by a lawyer. If you're a legal professional and see something I should fix, email me: I truly appreciate it.
